三板头往丰盛港16公里 路段已修复恢复通车
上个月崩陷的三板头往丰盛港16公里路段，周四恢复通车。
三板头往丰盛港16公里处路段上月因大雨发生崩陷，经过近一个月修复，该路段今日恢复通车。
丰盛港公共工程局昨日指出，随着该路段已恢复通车，附近一条临时路段已关闭，另外，开放临时桥梁的工作正在进行，使用者受促限速及小心驾驶。
上个月15日凌晨2时左右，因连日下大雨关系，造成三板头往丰盛港16公里处路段坍塌，当时，一辆路过的本田CRV休旅车随着断裂崩陷的路段，坠入15公尺深的坑洞，庆幸车内的3人事后被救出，安然无恙。
该崩陷的路段是新山通往关丹的主要通道。

郑修强：州政府拨款5万 柔州推50个旅游配套

柔佛州旅游、商贸与消费人委员会主席拿督郑修强说，柔州政府拨款5万令吉，与马来西亚旅游总会柔州分会合作，推出50个柔州旅游配套，以迎合不同国家旅客的需求。
他说，来自国外及本地的旅客，都对旅游有不同的需求，上述50个旅游配套适合不同要求的旅客，以增加游客对柔州旅游业者的信心。
“马来西亚旅游总会柔州分会将担任这次计划的策略伙伴，大家集思广益，分享经验，同时将能以更专业的方式促进柔州的旅游业。”
他出席马来西亚旅游总会柔州公会新会所开幕典礼后，召开新闻发布会上，作出上述披露。出席者包括马来西亚旅游总会会长拿督陈国良、副会长莫哈末拉基尔、柔州分会主席李慧贞、柔州旅游促进局局长阿都玛烈等。
与此同时，郑修强呼吁，旅游业者需与时并进，并建议该领域的业者能更有系统、专业及专注地推广旅游业。

Navy to rescue stranded tourists on Tioman Island
The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has been deployed to rescue 93 tourists who have been stranded on Tioman Island for several days following bad weather and rough seas.
A total of 54 foreign tourists and 39 local tourists have been stranded on the island since Jan 11.
Tioman assemblyman Datuk Seri Mohd Johari Hussain said Navy ship KD Terengganu is expected to arrive on the island at 10pm Monday (Jan 15).
"Tomorrow morning (Jan 16) at 7.30am, we can start transferring people from the marina," he told The Star.
Mohd Johari also said seven locals will be allowed to board the ship as they had urgent matters to attend to on the mainland.
The monsoon season in Tioman Island starts from October to March every year.
Mohd Johari also said when the monsoon season starts, the Government constantly reminds people of the situation and the risk that they may face on the island.
"During this period, fewer tourists will visit the island due to the weather but there are those who take the risk to go to Tioman with the hope that they would be able to board the ferry when the weather improves," he said.
He said this time, ferry services remained inoperable for a longer period and as such, tourists and locals were unable to leave the island.

Early morning scare for three
Near-miss incident: The road collapse that occurred at the 16km mark along Jalan Jemaluang-Mersing.
Three people in a car had a scare when they were almost swallowed up by a landslide along Jalan Jemaluang-Mersing.
Part of the road they were travelling on suddenly collapsed early yesterday morning.
Their car plunged into a 15m- deep ravine that suddenly opened up before them at the 16km mark of the road.
Thankfully, nobody was seriously hurt. One of them was sent to the Mersing Hospital with minor injuries.
Mersing OCPD Deputy Supt Cyril Edward Nuing said the man with the minor injury was identified as Swee Ah Peng, 60.
Police, however, have yet to determine the identities of the other two in the 2.30am incident.
DSP Cyril said when police arrived at the scene, the injured man had been sent to the hospital while the others had left for the Senai International Airport.
He advised road users travelling to Johor Baru or Mersing to take the alternative route of Jalan Nitar-Jemaluang here.
State exco member Datuk Ayub Rahmat said Jalan Telok Arong in Mersing was closed due to a landslide while Jalan Johor Baru-Kuantan near the Mersing Industrial Training Institute was also shut to motorists.
Motorists have been advised to use the alternative routes of Jalan Tanjung Resang, Jalan Mersing/Endau and Jalan Air Papan, he said.
Ayub said as at 2.30pm yesterday, there were 289 flood evacuees in six shelters in Segamat, Mersing and Kota Tinggi.
